Kate is the Senior Program Manager for Product Introduction and Access at AVAC and a Senior Advisor to Access Bridge. During her time at AVAC, Kate has managed a number of HIV prevention product introduction initiatives, including the Dual Prevention Pill (DPP) Consortium, a coalition of organizations working to bring the DPP, an MPT combining oral contraception and oral PrEP, to market. More broadly, she has contributed to introduction planning for emerging prevention options, including MK-8527 and lenacapavir, and global conversations on HIV/SRH integration and other cross-cutting issues.
Prior to joining AVAC in 2018, Kate was the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Policy Analyst and Global Health Corps Fellow at the Center for Health and Gender Equity (CHANGE), where she co-authored Prescribing Chaos in Global Health: The Global Gag Rule from 1984-2018. She also worked with the Women’s Rights Division and Americas Division at Human Rights Watch, and with the Global Legal Program at the Center for Reproductive Rights.
Kate has an MA from The New School and a BA from Tulane University. She speaks Portuguese and Spanish.
