Alison is the Senior Program Manager of STIs at AVAC where she leads the STI program.In this role, Alison manages the development of an STI vaccine and diagnostic advocacy program. Since joining AVAC, Alison has helped to lead collaborations with other organizations focused on STI prevention and sexual health promotion.
Prior to joining AVAC, Alison was a postdoctoral fellow at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital where she conducted research focused on improving HPV vaccination rates in the United States. During that time, she published multiple manuscripts focused on implementing HPV vaccination programs and led a project aimed at understating HPV vaccination attitudes among LGBTQIA+ people.
Alison joined AVAC in 2023, bringing research experience in STI vaccine and diagnostics, vaccine hesitancy, and implementation science. She has been published in Sexually Transmitted Diseases, Journal of Adolescent Health, and Human Vaccines & Immunotherapeutics. She received her MPH from Yale School of Public Health and PhD from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
