AVAC Comment on Proposed Reorganization of the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID)

In response to the National Institute of Health’s (NIH) proposed reorganization of the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), AVAC submitted comment to the Office of the Director of the NIH. Citing concerns of dismantling a currently unified trial oversight and support system, disruptions to trial site readiness and impacts on community engagement, and delays in funding and clinical trials, AVAC urged NIH leadership to meaningfully consider the recommendations of AVAC and many allied public health partners on the proposed restructuring.
