Objective:HPTN 071 (PopART) is a study that will find out whether offering a combination of several already known HIV prevention methods to a community will better prevent the spread of HIV than offering them inidvidually. The study will be conducted in Zambia and South Africa.
Results: CROI Mar. 5, 2019-- Findings from HPTN 071 (PopART) show delivery of an HIV prevention strategy that includes offering in-home HIV testing to everyone, with immediate referral to HIV care, and treatment for people living with HIV based on prevailing in-country guidelines, can substantially reduce new HIV infections.
